Weddings at Our Lady of Fatima presided by Fr Francis
If you are planning a wedding to be held at Our Lady of Fatima Palmyra and would like Fr Franics to preside you will need to contact him as soon as you have a date by ringing the Parish Office on 9339 1298.
The weeks and months ahead can be both exciting and demanding and the parish wishes you all the very best as you prepare for this monumental step in your journey of life.
To assist you as you prepare for your wedding day you will be required to meet with the Parish Priest, Fr Francis, on several occasions for the completion of necessary paperwork and the planning of your wedding mass or service. In 99 percent of cases couples are expected to undertake an appropriate marriage preparation program and this will be discussed at your first meeting.
At this first meeting you will complete the necessary government and church papers and to assist in this you both need to bring copies of your birth certificates, baptism certificates and drivers licence/passport. If either of you has been baptised at Our Lady of Fatima simply advise Fr Franics and the office will research the Register. If one of you is not a Catholic but has been baptised in another Christian church you will still need your baptism certificate. (Mother’s can be a great source for these documents, or try your parish priest). At the first meeting Fr Francis will provide you with some leaflets about appropriate marriage preparation courses and after the completion of your course we will then meet on two further occasions concerning your wedding mass or service.
Ideally this is should be done 6-8 weeks out from your wedding day as it will leave you free to deal with all the last minute issues.
Weddings at Our Lady of Fatima presided by another Priest
If you are planning a wedding at Our Lady of Fatima and would like another Priest to preside you will need to contact the Parish Office on 9339 1298 as soon as you have a date in mind to book the Church.
It is the responsibility of the visiting Priest to prepare and provide all the paperwork, both government and church for your wedding.
As a general guide you will need to provide the priest celebrating your wedding with copies of your birth certificates and baptism certificates. There may be other papers that he may require and no doubt he will advise you accordingly.
If the parish can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact the office.
Weddings at Other Venues & Chapels
If you are planning a wedding to be held at an outdoor venue or non denominational chapels and would like Fr Francis to preside you will need to contact him as soon as you have a date by ringing the Parish Office on 9339 1298.

Please note that if your marriage is being celebrated in a “non-Church setting” extra paperwork and permissions are required. If you are both Catholic and wish to get married outside of a sacred place then permission is required from the Archbishop. Fr Francis will help facilitate this request to the Archbishop, but it is worth noting that these requests are rarely approved.
